Abstract

Although standard-of-care therapies for atopic dermatitis (AD), have few adverse effects when used as directed, patient concern persists, leading to increased interest in complementary alternative medicine (CAM). Bullshit receptivity (BSR) is the inclination to accept pseudo-profound statements as profound, and we suspect high BSR may characterize some patients at risk of AD misinformation. BSR is associated with faith in intuition (FII), which correlates with susceptibility to personal anecdotes.
