Abstract

Sweet syndrome (SS) is a neutrophilic dermatosis characterized by an abrupt onset of painful erythematous skin lesions in association to fever, leukocytosis and occasionally, pathergy. Giant cellulitis-like SS is a rare variant characterized by large painful erythematous plaques resembling cellulitis. A 42-year-old female with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) presented with fever and two erythematous tender plaques localized to the left antecubital fossa and the left proximal medial thigh. Histopathologic evaluation of a biopsy from the left thigh lesion demonstrated findings suggestive of erythema nodosum.
