Abstract

Defensive secretions of Na38Cl-injected eastern lubber grasshopper, Romalea microptera (Palisot de Beauvois), contained no detectable radioactive 2,5-dichlorophenol or other benzene soluble 38Cl-containing material. It does not appear that this insect synthesizes the chlorinated phenol.
