Abstract

Introduction and aims of the study: Pregnancy complicated with chronic kidney disease and diabetes are at higher risk of pre-eclampsia and small for gestational age babies, among other complications. Such pregnancies require careful monitoring of multiple compounding issues that may be detrimental to fetal and maternal health. Method: A patient with known chronic kidney disease was monitored throughout her pregnancy and issues raised by her caring team highlighted. Results: Our 30-year-old patient was an insulin dependent diabetic and hypertensive with secondary nephropathy and retinopathy.
