Abstract
High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) technology is used for the treatment of prostate cancer and liver cancer, uterine leiomyoma and cosmetic surgery ( Face lifting, Slimming) in recent years. It is effective to deeper layer of skin which cannot reach the energy with Radio Frequency and Laser. Ultra Vera® is the vaginoplasty device with HIFU technology which is same technology as Doublo®, HIFU treatment device for the face lifting. We are assessing the effectiveness and perioperative safety of HIFU vaginoplasty in a day surgery clinic. We prospectively studied 29 patients, median age 46±7, between Apr. 2016 and Aug.2017 at LUNA Pelvic Floor Total Support Clinic. Applying ultrasound gel to a cartridge, doctors insert the cartridge to the vagina and irradiates HIFU energy on the circumference. 2 rounds to the inner part and introitus. Average treatment time was 20 minutes without anesthesia Follow up was performed at 3 month. We checked preoperative safety, vaginal tightness and sexual satifaction using 5 grade VAS scale, FSDS-R, FSFI, Vaginal Health Index before operation and after operation 3 month. This study was approved by the Ethics Committees of the Yokohama Motomachi Women’s Clinic LUNA in 2016. Written informed consent was obtained from all patients.
