Abstract

A series of copper(I) complexes {[CuCl2(HpymI)] • H2O}n (pymI = 2-Aimo-5-iodopyrimidine), 1, {[CuBr2(HpymI)] • H2O}n, 2 , {[CuCl2(HpymBr)] • H2O}n (pymBr = 2-Aimo-5-boropyrimidine), 3, {[CuBr2(HpymBr)] • H2O}n, 4, and {[CuCl2(HpymCl)] • H2O}n (pymCl = 2-Aimo-5-choropyrimidine), 5 have been prepared by the reactions of CuCl and CuBr with 2-Amino-5-halopyrimidine in solution of HCl and HBr, respectively. [(HpymCl)CuBr3(HpymCl)], 6, was prepared by the reaction of CuBr and pymCl in solution of HBr. These complexes have been structurally characterized by X-ray crystallography. In complexes 1 - 5, the zigzag chains are interacted through X---X (X = Cl, Br, I) interaction and N-H---X, N-H---O and O-H---X hydrogen bonds. Complex 6 is mononuclear, and the molecules are interacted through Br---Cl interaction, C-H---Br and C-H---Br hydrogen bonds.
