Abstract

Abstract One porous metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) of [Al(OH)TDC] was synthesized by using solvothermal reactions with Al(III) ion and 2,5-thiophenedicarboxylic acid ( H2TDC). The chemical formula was listed as: [Al(OH)(TDC)] In the thesis, we use power X-ray diffraction (PXRD) to identify the structure of MOF and observe the size and shape by using scanning electron microscope. For the further, investigate the characteristic of chemical composition via thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), elemental analyzer (EA), UV-visible spectrometer (UV-Vis), gas adsorption measurement, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, and variable temperature PXRD were also used to characterized the new MOF. From the gas sorption measurements, we find that [Al(OH)TDC] is able to effectively adsorb CO2 and H2 gas molecules with high uptake to 3.02 mmol/g (298 K, 1 bar) and 10.66 mmol/g (77 K, 1 bar).
