Abstract
Abstract: Anlasslich des 25-jahrigen Bestehens der Fachhochschulen in Osterreich zeigt der Beitrag auf, von welchen Einflussfaktoren die Entstehung des Sektors gepragt war. Es werden die Zielvorgaben erortert, die der Gesetzgeber bei der Einfuhrung der Fachhochschulen vorgegeben hat und der aktuelle Entwicklungsstand analysiert. Sodann werden Aspekte aufgegriffen, die aus Sicht der Autorin und des Autors fur eine weitere positive Entwicklung der Fachhochschulen besonders wichtig sind, wobei vor allem auf die Steuerungsfunktion des Bundes in qualitativer und finanzieller Hinsicht naher eingegangen wird. On the occasion of 25 years of existence of Universities of Applied Sciences in Austria, this article points out which influencing factors shaped this sector. The objectives, which the legislator presented at the introduction of the Universities of Applied Sciences, are discussed, and the current stage of development analyzed. Thereafter, aspects are taken up which, from the authors´ point of view, are of great importance for a further positive development of Universities of Applied Sciences, whereby important controlling functions of the federal government in qualitative and financial respect are touched upon in particular.
