Abstract

Typical to a wireless network are packet loss and variable bit-rates. Subjective tests were carried out to assess the perceived quality of video optimized by MPEG-2 adaptation methods such as IFD and SNR scalability. The results demonstrate, amongst others, a scene effect, a duration effect, and a saturation effect.
