Abstract

Background: M1231 is a bispecific antibody drug conjugate (ADC) targeting tumor-associated mucin 1 (MUC1) and epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR). Concurrent binding leads to ADC internalization and trafficking to lysosomes where the hemiasterlin-related cytotoxic payload is enzymatically cleaved from the ADC. The released payload interferes with microtubule dynamics and subsequently kills the tumor cells.
