Abstract

There is mounting evidence that chronic reflux-induced aspiration contributes to the development bronchiolitis obliterans syndrome (BOS), one of the leading causes of chronic pulmonary allograft failure. We assessed whether chronic aspiration of gastric fluid would lead to bronchiolitis obliterans (BO), the histologic manifestation of BOS, in rat lung allografts.
