Abstract
The noise that blower is generated is problem at the factory. Especially, the turbo-blower makes large noise. Therefore, the clarification of generation factors and the decrease of the noise are requested. The present study intended that search for turbulent flow noise sources in a centrifugal turbo-blower. First, we examined flow of a conventional product with flow visualization of blade around by injecting tracer. And we evaluated flow quantitatively by Particle Image Velocimetry analyzing. Development of dead water region cause increasing velocity gradient. Next, in the method similar to a conventional product, we examined flow of a new product that is advanced to decrease sound pressure level. Dead water region is not developed and velocity gradient is low. In comparing the flow of a conventional product with the flow of new product, it is found that the increasing velocity gradient is one of the turbulent flow noise sources in a centrifugal turbo-blower.
