Abstract

The present paper investigates the applicability of the procedure for the life prediction proposed by one of the authors to materials subjected to the PC- and CP-type 90 deg out-of-phase straining of push-pull and cyclic torsion as well as the effect of out-of-phase angle on the PP and CC test lives. The combined push-pull and cyclic torsion tests have been conducted on thin-walled tubular specimens of SUS304 austenitic stainless steel at 1023K in air under PP-, PC-, CP- and CC-type strain waveforms.
