Abstract

Headache is the 4th most common chief complaint in the emergency department (ED).There are a wide variety of pharmacotherapies utilized in its management resulting in varying degrees of resource utilization. The primary goal of this multi-site ED retrospective study was to assess the association between route of administration (ROA) and length of stay (LOS) for primary headache patients. A secondary goal was to compare the length of stay between various guideline recommended drug classes for headaches.
