Abstract

The current presentation will discuss: 1) published findings from one of the first rigorously designed RCTs reporting on the feasibility, tolerability, and preliminary efficacy of an excitatory repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) to dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC) treatment course in youth and young adults with ASD; 2) unpublished results from the same trial showing reduction of depressive symptoms following active compared to sham rTMS; and 3) the protocol for an ongoing rTMS clinical trial to target depression in youth and emerging adults with ASD that includes pre/postneuroimaging to track mechanisms of rTMS-induced brain change.
