Abstract

For the improvement of the luminous efficiency of PDPs, we tried several types of cell structures with auxiliary electrodes. The performances of those cells were diagnosed by spatiotemporally resolved spectroscopic methods and the results were compared between those cells. It was shown that the application of additional pulses onto the data electrode could improve largely the efficiency. But a better result was obtained with a horizontal counter electrode structure using an auxiliary electrode installed on the front glass plate.
