Abstract

It is a historical fact that the history and civilization of the Sub-Continent have been of great importance all over the world. Every aspect of the culture reached its climax with the arrival of the Muslims here in the sub-continent of India. Many of the historians have narrated the glorious achievements of the Muslims in golden words. The Muslim rule came to an end in the Sub-Continent after the arrival of the European nations in the Sub-Continent. The British East India Company defeated the Mughal rulers and took over the rule in their hands. The British tried to present the Muslim history according to their own angle in a wrong prospective to strengthen their rule over here. The Muslim rule was presented as a barbaric regime. A dark and cruel picture of the Muslim culture was painted. They made fun of the sincere efforts of the Muslims for the Inter-Faith harmony. The British rulers were introduced as sincere servants and friends of the native Indians. It is necessary to identify and highlight the educational and historical dishonesty of the orientalist historians. In this regard, it is the need of the hour to have an impartial and critical analysis of the books of these so-called historians. In this way, most of the misconceptions and ambiguities related to the Muslim history in the Sub-Continent can be removed. This research study has been presented to fulfill the educational need of the literary circles.
