Abstract

Introduction: Male genital lichen sclerosus (MGLSc) can lead to sexual dysfunction and urological morbidity and is a risk factor for penile cancer (PeCa). Although the precise cause of MGLSc remains controversial, accumulated evidence indicates a relation to chronic, occluded exposure to urine. We mapped the presence of MGLSc across the prepuce to better understand its spatial distribution and correlate the clinical and histological extents of the disease. Methods: Preputial samples were collected from ten patients with clinically-diagnosed MGLSc undergoing circumcision.
