Abstract

A light driven actuator has a feature of a non-contact method for applying energy remotely. A neodymium magnet is levitated by magnetic force between the neodymium and ferrite magnet using graphite as diamagnetic material. A temperature sensitive ferrite works to control the magnetic force. When laser is irradiated on to the temperature sensitive ferrite, magnetic force decreases by photo-thermal effect. The magnet can be controlled in three-dimensional area in the magnetic levitation.
