Abstract

Abstract Design Theory is a theory which is constructed for abstract and formal description of general design activity. Generally, an products as a target of designing has its internal structure. However, the abstract design theory has a lack of description for this hierarchical structure. We think that a hierarchical interface from the part to the blobal level of hierarchy causes an emergent property in designing a product. In this presentation, we show that an arfificial product can be represented in abstract desing theory, and that the abstract design theory is effective description to understand designing. Also, we show that the abstract design theory can be enhanced to include hierarchical descriptions.
