Abstract

The article discusses personal genome testing services from firms such as 23andMe. Topics include the limitations of personal genome testing for genetic predisposition to various diseases, the inaccuracy of physical trait predictions made by the service, and the interactions of genetics with lifestyle in disease prediction. Genetic aspects of Alzheimer's disease are addressed.
