Abstract

By 13 May 2009, many coastal states had submitted information on the limits of their continental shelves beyond 200 nautical miles to the Commission on the Limits of the Continental Shelf (CLCS). Many other coastal states had submitted to the CLCS their preliminary information 'indicative of the limits of the 'outer' continental shelf. However, from both the submissions - those containing information and those conveying preliminary information 'indicative of by the coastal states, the 13 May 2009 deadline seems to have been taken quite seriously by the states. The chapter contains two Tables, listing submissions containing information on the limits of the continental shelf beyond 200 nautical miles and those containing preliminary information 'indicative of the continental shelf beyond 200 nautical miles. Keywords: 200 nautical miles; continental shelf; preliminary information; submissions
