Abstract

A Sodium-Sulfur Battery (NAS Battery) is characterized by high energy density, small installation space, and long term durability. It is expected to be put to practical use as electric power storage equipment that is installed in a location (for example, distribution substations, customer's premises, etc) close to where electric power is used. Tokyo Electric Power Company has been developed NAS Battery for practical use and conducted diverse demonstration tests. This paper shows the latest NAS Battery system development for practical use.
