Abstract

Previous long-term follow-up studies of pediatric heart transplant recipients have included few infant recipients and emphasized the importance of coronary artery disease and rejection as major causes of morbidity and mortality >5 years after transplant. The lower rates of rejection and coronary disease in infant recipients suggest their long-term morbidities may differ from older pediatric recipients.
