Abstract

The Carina nebula was observed at 22 GHz using the 13.7-m Itapetinga Radio Telescope. The radio structure of the Carina region shows three lobes running perpendicular to the Galactic plane, suggesting a large-scale configuration, such as separate spiral arms, to explain the radio features. In addition, a spectral index survey was carried out over the nebula which indicated several non-thermal regions. They were interpreted as due to an old supernova remnant in front of the nebula.
