Abstract

High dynamic range (HDR) video standards have been evolving from static tone mapping (e.g. HDR10) to dynamic tone mapping. This enables tone mapping customized for each scene or frame. This paper introduces an enhanced tone mapping curve formulation which helps improve rendering precision for shadow details and addresses the display's low‐end luminance characteristics.
