Abstract

Optical pincet is becoming an important technology for microsystem technologies. Micro-scale object can be precisely manipulated by optical pincet. In this study, we focused on manipulating performance of optical pincet with small glass beads on a slide glass. As a result, manipulation of glass beads was successful in water. But in air, glass beads were not manipulated. This is because, increase of adhesive force by capillary force would enhance friction between the beads and the slide glass. Therefore, to decrease of the capillary force is important for manipulation of glass beads in air.
