Abstract
For the study of a transient jet injected into a gas diesel engine, it is important to investigate the growing processes of the fuel jet. The velocity field inside the water jet was analyzed by Particle Image Velocimetry(PIV). The water mixed with a very small quantity of white ink was injected from the nozzle to a glass tank filled with clear water. It was recognized that the characteristics of velocity is similar to a transient gas jet's.
