Abstract

This paper deals with a stability analysis for steady collision vibration utilizing calculus of variations. Following the theoretical analyses of harmonic vibration and stability criterion, the numerical calculations are performed and the resonance curves are constructed using the resulting vibration. Next, the stability charts for resulting vibration are constructed. The stability criterions for periodic solutions on steady vibration are discussed utilizing their charts. By using them, the stable branches for the resonance curves are distinguished with unstable ones.
