Abstract

In order to have an efficient operation of vehicles such as trucks and excavators in the mining area, it is desirable for mining industry to have a 3D geological map (3D-GeoMap) of the working area. For the construction of the 3D-GeoMap of the working area, a land vehicle, which carries radar sensors, global positioning system receivers, and gyro sensors, acquires the spatial data of working area, and then the point cloud data is processed to generate the triangular mesh. Complex examples are used to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
