Abstract

Each physical joint has a physiological range of motion and the range generally decreases in case of disease. Now a device for the rehabilitation for the joint was developed. The research aims at investigating the extension effect of ROM(range of motion) which limited around the subject's limitation when using the device. The experiment mainly is measuring the ROM of bending of trunk to which the device is attached when lateral bending were done. The repetitive moment generated in this device is based on the three-dimensional gyroscopic moment which occurred as a load to the body. Two gyroscopes are combined in the device. The repetive moment is generated by turning gimbals which always put each rotor in mirror image each other to their mid line.
