Abstract
Experimental study has been conducted on flow structure in the rectangular channels with a sharp 180deg turn. Detailed distributions of mean velocity and fluctuation velocity were measured by using LDV at a Reynolds number of 3.5×(10)^4 and dimensionless turn clearance (C^*) of 1.4,1.0,and 0.6. Present measured data were compared with local mass transfer results, and the influences of turn clearance on the mass transfer and flow characteristics were discussed.
