Abstract
As we enter 2023 amidst a continual energy and inflation crisis mode, along with major initiatives to reduce the use of carbon‐based fuels, it is worth examining the relationship between environmental activism and inflation—both in oil and natural gas prices and in the prices for other goods dependent on oil and natural gas. I have been devoted to various environmental goals for most of my life, with the impact of carbon on climate change having been important since 1970. It was an underlying reason for my deciding to enter the natural gas industry, as the carbon content of coal and oil was already clearly problematic.
