Abstract

Abstract: The inaugural Paul Kurnit Award for Distinguished Scholarship in the Field of Advertising & Society was presented to Professor Judy Foster Davis of Eastern Michigan University at the 2022 Advertising & Society Colloquium held at the National Museum of American History. This piece presents a summary of the Kurnit Award as well as Professor Davis' winning article "Representation Matters: An Illustrated History of Race and Ethnicity in Advertising," which appeared in Advertising & Society Quarterly in 2020.
