Abstract

High dynamic range (HDR) television sets have taken over the premium segment of the market. In 2018, no major manufacturer would even think about releasing a high-end TV without some kind of HDR capability. But, increasingly, HDR is beginning to spread throughout the midrange and even lower cost TV lines. Disc players, streaming boxes, and game consoles have been rapidly joining the HDR ecosystem too. And millions of HDR capable phones, tablets, and even laptops can now display HDR images.
