Abstract

The purpose of this study was to monitor the implementation of the 2015 revised national science curriculum of elementary and middle school. In order to do this, the survey and the interview were conducted. The subject of survey was 265 elementary school teachers and 239 middle school science teachers, and 5 teachers were interviewed. As a result, due to the emphasis of the 2015 revised curriculum, positive changes were seen in science classes, and science core competencies were being developed through the science classes. In addition, the inquiry activities were faithfully conducted in the science classes, and positive responses were given to the appropriateness of the integration unit. It was generally perceived to be useful for the presentation of ‘Teaching Methods and Notes’ and ‘Assessment Methods and Notes’. Elementary and middle school teachers have many difficulties doing experimental classes, and there are many requests for the teaching and learning materials. For the successful implementation of science curriculum, it is necessary to provide support related to experimental classes and the various materials.
