Abstract
Research Methodology: Literature Review and Interviews with Specialists.Main Thesis: Major issues of security situation on the Korean peninsula in 2012 including North Korean leadership change to Kim jong-un, North Korean Nuclear Problem (Denuclearization) and Six-Party Talks will be analyzed followed by security outlook in 2013. The paper will also try to focus on the basic philosophy and overall evaluation of Lee Myung-bak government's North Korean policy. The author will appraise that raison d'etre of Six Party Talks has been fade away in every practical meaning because North Korea asserts her status of Nuclear Power. Current issues and status of the ROK-US alliance, atmosphere and policy dilemmas in Korean society with regard to Sino-US relations, prospects of North-South Korean relations under the new South Korean leadership will also be tackled.
