Abstract

The suppressive activity of regulatory T cells (Treg) in the absence of the G-protein coupled receptor 109a (HCA2, Puma) is significantly reduced as demonstrated in the contact hypersensitivity model. Here we asked whether the same phenomenon can be observed in other skin inflammatory models. To address this issue, we used the psoriasis like imiquimod (IMQ)-induced skin inflammation model in mice. Application of IMQ on the skin of HCA2- knock out (KO) or wild type (WT) animals resulted in psoriasiform skin (skin thickening, erythema, scales).
