Abstract

The Strathclyde University Mk-6 Electron Cyclotron Maser has been successfully operated in the G-band (140-220GHz). A field-immersed, field-emission cold cathode was used in the two electrode system. A conventional pulsed coil produced the spatially homogeneous intra-cavity magnetic field, which was capable of producing a continuously variable magnetic field up to 9T
