Abstract
After 2000, each French commune has legal obligation to possess social housing more then 20% of the house stock. So, French central government establish divers legislations and support programs. Current french social housing policy aims to achieve social mix and support divers classes to solve their difficulties on housing. French social housing support programs are differentiated according to household income and housing markets condition. Beyond support for lower bracket, it promotes also purchase social housing and supply intermediate house for middle bracket. Therefore this study intends to examine systems and characteristics of french social housing and shows implications to Korean social housing policies.
