Abstract

A monolithically integrated active broadband mixer for wireless communications in a 0.5 μm 80 GHz-fT SiGe bipolar technology is presented. The circuit is optimized for low power consumption and operates up to 20 GHz consuming only 10 mW from a single 5 V supply. The mixer has a conversion gain higher than 10 dB up to 20 GHz and low double-sideband noise figure of 6 dB at 20 GHz. By simulations and experimental results it is shown that present SiGe technologies allow for the realization of low-power broadband mixers up to about 20 GHz. (5 pages)
