Abstract

This project seeks to study the effectiveness of online learning modules for first year medical students. Ten learning modules are created based on the pathology of different types of gastrointestinal polyps. Participants are required to attempt a pre-test followed by the learning modules and a post-test. Overall, 21 sets of results are collected and statistically significant improvement is shown in the post-test across every question except question 9. The average score for pre- and post-test (3.52 and 8.95 out of 10, respectively) further iterates the improvement. Within the scope of this project, the online learning modules have proven to be an effective self study tool for the participants.
