Abstract

Relapsing polychondritis (RPC) is a disorder characterized by inflammation and the destruction of the cartilaginous structures of multiple organs. The typical diagnostic signs are auricular chondritis, nasal chondritis, respiratory tract chondritis and audiovestibular damage, therefore RPC is an important disorder for laryngologists. In particular, tracheal stenosis due to chondritis is the main cause of death. We present two cases of RPC, comfirmed by diagnostic signs recognized by Damiani's expanded criteria for diagnosing RPC.
