Abstract
The title compound, C14H24N+·I−, was formed by a Schiff base condensation of 2,6-diisopropylaniline and acetone, using GaI as a Lewis acid. A strong interaction from the iminium hydrogen N—H to the iodide counter-ion is observed. The 1H and 13C NMR data are also reported.
