Abstract

The literature outlines several models for teaching medical students and family medicine and general psychiatry residents to conduct a psychiatric interview. To our knowledge, there are no published reports describing the implementation of a direct-observation clinic for child and adolescent psychiatry fellows. We propose that a direct-observation model is a feasible and valuable educational experience. Our objective was to design and implement a direct-observation psychiatric assessment clinic for first-year child and adolescent psychiatry fellows.
