Abstract

AbstractThis paper reviews the major steps in the successful effort in reaching Level 3 maturity at Raytheon Falls Church, against the EIA/IS‐731 Systems Engineering Capability Model. This effort was conducted at the same time as other improvement efforts at Raytheon Falls Church, adding to the complexity of the task while providing the opportunity for synergy as well. Key elements associated with process improvement are discussed, including change management activities and their relation to other models for improvement. Finally, these elements are evaluated for application to other process improvement efforts in a multi‐model environment, such as the use of CMMI® and Lean or Six Sigma.
