Abstract
A low-noise dual-detector lightwave receiver operating in the 0.05–2.2 GHz frequency band has been built with commercially available packaged Si bipolar transistors. Performance competitive with conventional transimpedance designs using GaAs MESFETs is achieved employing a current shunt feedback amplifier design.
