Abstract
The conformation of the N—H bond in the structure of the title compound (2MPTCA), C9H8Cl3NO, is syn to the ortho-methyl substituent, in contrast to the anti conformation observed for the side-chain-unsubstituted N-(2-methylphenyl)acetamide, with somewhat slightly different bond parameters. Molecules of 2MPTCA are linked into a chain through N—H⋯O hydrogen bonds.
