Abstract

Half of all lifetime mental illness is present by the time children enter high school. However, there are challenges with connecting children with providers who can accurately provide behavioral/mental health (B/MH) diagnosis and treatment. The COVID-19 global pandemic saw a significant rise in B/MH disorders. Furthermore, new pediatric attendings report feeling unprepared to address these issues. We present a novel, interactive program that seeks to improve pediatric residents’ confidence in managing common pediatric B/MH conditions.
