Abstract

Disclosure of suicidal thoughts and behaviors (STB) is a critical step in identifying and intervening to support youth at risk. While youth are encouraged to talk to a trusted adult (eg, parent/guardian), there is limited research in patterns of and responses to STB disclosure among at-risk youth. The present study aims to characterize youth experiences of STB disclosure to inform family-based suicide prevention.
